44GS inspired by the full moon over the Shinshu Mountains
The 44GS design was introduced in 1967, and defined the unique Grand Seiko design language that still guides the design of the manufacture's timepieces today. To celebrate its 55th anniversary, this SBGY009 model reinterprets the 44GS design by refining itself with the use of the hand-wound Spring Drive 9R31 caliber and adorning itself with a blue dial.
The 40mm stainless steel case houses a dial that catches the light from all angles, recreating the moon's glow on the landscape at the highest point of the sky.
The movement uses a double spring barrel that keeps the movement compact and allows for a larger 72-hour power reserve.
The SBGY009 is a limited edition of 1,500 pieces.
